Avid golfer wins trip Golf winner: Curtis O'Connor, has won a VIP hospitality trip for two to the 2011 BMW New Zealand Open in Christchurch in December. Wellington Golf Club member Curtis O Connor has won a trip to the New Zealand Open at Clearwater (north of Christchurch International Airport), including flights, accommodation and two-day passes through the May Spend & Win competition with the New Zea- land Golf Card Programme. Mr O Connor has played golf for more than 20 years. He has not been to the NZ Open since it was at Royal Wel- lington Golf Club several years ago. The Spend & Win competition is part of the New Zealand Golf Credit Card Programme, which is provided exclus- ively to New Zealand golfers. Mr O Connor said he uses his New Zealand Golf Card to promote the sport when out and about. It shows that you re a member of a golf club -- since it has your golf mem- bership number on it. The credit card is provided by Diners Club and New Zealand Golf to support grassroots golf activities. Diners Club business development manager Louise Mackenzie says Diners Club has contributed more than $50,000 to golf clubs through donations, prizes and other sponsor- ship during the last financial quarter.
