Upper Hutt Leader : July 13th 2011
54 UPPER HUTT LEADER, JULY 13, 2011 UPPER HUTT 53 Main St, Upper Hutt Ph 528 4808 Fax 528 1440 www.radiuspharmacy.co.nz Proud sponsor of THE YOUNG ONES HOURS: 8am-8pm Mon-Fri • 9am-6pm Sat/Sun & Public Holidays OPEN EVERYDAY Except Christmas Day & New Years Day They came from all around...runners and big supporter numbers alike to Upper Hutt's wonderful Kaitoke Park for the Wellington Regional Primary and Intermediate Schools Cross-Country on Tuesday. There were boys' and girls' competitions from years 4 to 8 on a well laid-out and picturesque course that, for the older runners, included several river crossings. The competitors, while representing their individual schools, ran in the colours of their local association with our locals running in the maroon tops of Upper Valley. Today's Young Ones page takes in action from three of the day's earlier events, the year 4 and year 5 boys and the girls' year 5 race. The strongest local results were: Year 4: girls, Sam Mackinder (Silverstream) 6th; boys, Jonty Bamber (Silverstream) 2nd and Fynn McCulloch (Totara Park) 6th; Year 5: girls, Charlotte Floodsmith-Ryan (Silverstream) 5th, Olivia Healy (Silverstream) 6th; boys, Kane Franken (Silverstream) 10th; Year 6: girls, Piper Gwyn (Silverstream) 9th; boys, Nikolai Allen (Mangaroa) 3rd.
