Carter Every day throughout the world, we see the deep tragedy and sorry that most feel during their lifetime, of loved ones or others we know go down into the sleep of death. I have tried to visualize how people feel about their deep loss, and perhaps most would feel they have gone forever, never again to be seen. On occasions I have sought to give people comfort about the wonderful news of the future resurrection for these departed ones, but sadly, most of these say it is only my opinion, and yet this news of this wondrous hope is so plainly shown in the Scriptures, and as I have shown in the preceding chapters. Mathew 24:21,22 tells of a great tribulation that could affect the whole world (could be Nuclear War), but God will cut short that time for the elect's sake (the last ones alive of the overcoming church of this Gospel Age), otherwise no one would survive that terrible time. But think how merciful it will be for all those who have fallen asleep, and they would have no knowledge of these terrifying times. And wouldn't that be a comfort to know our loved ones will be awakened when all these tragic times are past. I have an article here that is so true in its truth that could bring comfort to all of us, and I have enclosed this as I would love to share it with you all. "Asleep In Jesus" John 5:28. Jeremiah 31:16. Blessed God,Thy love and mercy, oh, how great that Thou should'st hide my loved one in the grave until Thy wrath be over past.Ah, yes, dear heart, sleep well, sleep well, no dreams disturb thy deep repose. "Asleep in Jesus". Undisturbed the while earth's breast is rent by "Armageddon's" strife, and all creation travails in the pangs that must precede her glorious second birth! "The ransomed of the Lord shall then return," and He shall bid thee waken out of sleep.A highway shall be there, a way of life, and thou, dear heart, with joy shall walk thereon, up, up, until perfection's goal is won, when there shall be no pain, nor any death, when God's dear hand shall wipe all tears away. In this bless't hope I lay thee down to rest. Good-night, dear heart, 'twill not be long. SLEEP WELL. 3578591AI Part of your COMMUNITY since 1946 OPEN THE DOORS on a great selection BUILDING? Shawn Hofstetter-Irwin admitted bur- glary last week after he broke into a Hamilton address earlier in the year. Prosecuting Sergeant Ian McDonald said Hofstetter-Irwin entered the yard of Jack House Transit on Kahikatea Dr. The premises is used as a [parking place for] houses which are then . . . transported to a permanent site. While at the site, a wire-mesh fence was cut, allowing the defendant to gain entry. He forced an aluminium side win- dow open and climbed inside a building, Mr McDonald said. The defendant then has removed vari- ous pieces of copper piping, causing sig- nificant damage to the internal walls and roofing. In addition, two further houses sustained damaged in an attempt to remove fixed fittings. Mr McDonald said Hofstetter-Irwin was interviewed on May 5 and 7, but denied being at the site. He stated in explanation, he was fam- iliar with the property as he had been caught taking copper piping five years ago, and did not know how his finger- prints got on the window. Judge Pat Grace, when told Hofstetter- Irwin was to become a father in the next few weeks, remanded him to appear again on August 17. Order breached A local man who breached a protection order spoke with similar offenders in jail and learnt his lesson, the court was told. Shane Dawson pleaded guilty and had been in cus- tody for four weeks. Judge Pat Grace said the offending occurred after a break-up between Dawson and his ex-partner. He had been to her address and tried to contact the victim, despite a protection order against him in 2008. She switched on her mobile phone and received three text messages from you. She reported it to the police, there were further text messages received in quick succession, Judge Grace said. Dawson now understood that his behaviour was unacceptable, defence counsel Mike Sceats said. He realises that it is wrong. The time in prison has given him the opportunity to reflect on that. He s got the message and thinks enough is enough. Dawson was sentenced to two months prison, taking into account the four months he had already been in custody. NEWS 528 9654 PHONE US AT UH drug bust sequel An Upper Hutt couple was arrested as part of a $100,000 drug bust across the Wellington region. Police raided 25 properties and uncovered a large hydroponic cannabis-growing operation dur- ing the 12-month Operation Hunter. They also seized six vehicles, LSD and firearms. A woman, 48, and a man, 38, appeared in court last week facing joint charges in relation to the operation. Four local properties were searched and a large amount of cannabis was found. The man was also charged with selling metham- phetamine and conspiring to sell ecstasy and LSD. The court suppressed their names. Christopher Dean Priston, 32, also appeared in the court and was remanded in custody on 24 charges that included selling methamphetamine and offering to supply ecstasy. About 150 officers were involved in the raids, which focused on the Wairarapa region. Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said he believed the arrests significantly disrupted the criminal fraternity and drug supply chain across Wellington. In April, a sub-operation of Operation Hunter resulted in eight arrests. Police said they dis- mantled a drug syndicate in the Wellington region believed to be responsible for selling $2 million worth of methamphetamine over the past two years. Mr Thomson said police were still seeking further suspects and more arrests were likely.
