The initiative is about celebrating the benefts of breastfeeding for babies, toddlers, mums and society and sends a message that breastfeeding in public is acceptable and will be supported. The Activation team have received funding again for 2011-12 from the Lion Foundation to bring you the infamous Lively Places, the Activation Duathlon series and the ever-popular ActiveFutures forums (formerly futureCLUB). Lively Places has begun for winter consisting of a wide variety of FREE physical activity classes for adults and kids, including Zumba and Line Dancing, Tai Chi and Yoga, PlayGym and Jazz & Ballet. All running in local facilities all over Upper Hutt, from Timberlea, across to Totara Park and all the way down to Pinehaven. The programme runs until 17 September so check out the full timetable at www.activation.org.nz The Activation Duathlon series dates are set, with three events running over August, September and October. There will be fve course options, two for children, and a short, medium and long course for adults. The series is perfect for beginners, through to pro's getting warmed up for the season. Enter as an individual, as a team or a family. Do all three and be proud as you progress through the different levels. There are options for all levels and skill types, so check out the full course maps, entry forms and further info available soon at www.activation.org.nz For 2011, the futureCLUB forums have been rebranded to ActiveFutures, taking away the misconception that the forums were for sports clubs only. The forums are open to all those involved in sport and physical activity, including participants, instructors, coaches, secreataries and administrators. Everyone is welcome to learn about all elements of running a successful training programme, marketing, administration and all other elements involved in the success of a sports club or physical programme.
