A 50th jubilee will be held on Sept- ember 18 to commemorate the special event. Company captain Sheryn Rosanowski says the jubilee will include a lunch, a church parade and recognition of service ceremony. The Girls’ Brigade is an interde- nominational Christian youth organ- isation, which was founded in 1893 and operates in 59 countries. Girls can join the group at 5. They meet weekly to enjoy activities and learn a variety of skills. Mrs Rosanowski has been a member since 1977 and says the brigade is the most popular it has been in many years. ‘‘Our company has been very strong. I think it’s because the leaders come from within the girls. It’s very social and they have grown up together.’’ During the jubilee, there will be a ceremony for several officersreceiv- ing long-term service awards. The event will be held at St Margaret’s Presbyterian Church and tickets are $20 each. To register contact Lynaire Wolfsbauer at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Mrs Rosanowski on 971 7530.
