Printing the electoral rolls is a key part of our electoral process, says Murray Wicks, national man- ager of the Electoral Enrolment Centre. By law we must produce a com- plete list of all those currently enrolled to vote, and it gives everyone the opportunity to check they are enrolled and their details are correct. Preliminary electoral rolls with the details of everyone currently enrolled are now available for viewing at local Post Shops, public libraries and registrar of electors offices. If your details don t appear then you re not yet enrolled, says Mr Wicks. If your details are wrong, you need to update them by filling in a new enrolment form. We are urging people to enrol or update their details now to ensure they are ready to vote on election day, November 26. It s definitely not too late to enrol for this year s election, but we are encouraging people to do it now. Enrolling and updating your details is easy. Simply fill in an enrolment form. Enrolment forms are available by freetexting your name and address to 3676, going online to elections.org.nz, at any Post Shop or by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56). The final printed electoral rolls to be used on election day will close about a month before elec- tion day. Everyone who enrols in time to go on the final printed electoral rolls will get an Easy- Vote information pack in the mail, which will make voting quicker and easier on election day. The EasyVote packs will also include detailed information on the refer- endum on the voting system. Integration is group's mission The mission of Adaptive Technology Solutions is to enable people with disabilities to participate fully in society through the use and inte- gration of communication technology into their lives. Bringing this message to Save the Children Fund (SCF) members at their recent coffee morning, manager and trainer Genevieve McLachlan talked about training and products available to provide a unique service to people with a wide range of health or accident-related disabilities including sensory, physical, learning and multi-disabilities. It was of utmost importance to look at a person as a whole and to ascertain firstly if equipment was going to suit and secondly if it could be managed, she said. A ready option is to research other suppliers so only the most suitable product is recommended. Working with government and other agencies, such as the Blind Foundation and Work Budget, means people with a disability who are working or studying can have an individual assessment at their work- place. Adaptive Technology Solutions was founded in Upper Hutt four years ago and provides communica- tion for people with disabilities. The meeting raised $342 for SCF.
