Ambos get flash After nearly two years of consul- tation and trials, Wellington Free Ambulance paramedics have a new uniform. Along with a new colour scheme that fits in with the ambulance service's colours, the new uniform comes in two options -- a one-piece suit or trousers and shirt. The uniforms were officially worn from 6pm last Friday by the night shift in Wellington. The Christchurch earthquake was a tough final testing ground for the uniform but it proved itself in trying conditions and sealed the end of development and field trials. Though garments from overseas were tried, locally made garments offered superior quality in the end, spokesman Ross Cameron says. The squad suit, trousers and shirt have been produced by New Zealand Uniforms. The outer jacket has been made by Swazi in Otaki.
