Upper Hutt Leader : October 12th 2011
34 UPPER HUTT LEADER, OCTOBER 12, 2011 ZERO FEES MITCHELL KING Upper Hutt Resident and Engineering student I decided to do the hairdressing course at Wellington Trades Academy because I could not study these subjects at school. I have also enjoyed the hands-on experience and learn skills relevant to what I want to do later on. The best part is working on real clients in a salon environment on campus. This course has given me the skills to succeed. MIKAYLA VALENTIC Upper Hutt Resident and Hairdressing student I enjoy the mechanical engineering at Wellington Trades Academy because I get to learn cool stuff for my future career. The best part of this engineering course is that it leads towards an apprenticeship and teaches me the skills to get my frst job. Best thing is that I can still play soccer at school. The Wellington Trades Academy offers an exciting educational opportunity for senior secondary school students. Within a supportive, 'real-life' learning environment students work towards achieving NCEA Level Two and a National Trades qualification. Students study full time at WelTec and are dual enrolled at their school, giving them plenty of time to participate in sport and other school events. Kick start a trades career now and choose from a great selection of career options, including: Automotive, Building Construction, Creative Technology, Hairdressing & Beauty Services, Hospitality, Mechanical Engineering or Sport & Recreation.
