Upper Hutt Leader : November 2nd 2011
54 UPPER HUTT LEADER, NOVEMBER 2, 2011 UPPER HUTT 53 Main St, Upper Hutt Ph 528 4808 Fax 528 1440 www.radiuspharmacy.co.nz Proud sponsor of THE YOUNG ONES HOURS: 8am-8pm Mon-Fri • 9am-6pm Sat/Sun & Public Holidays OPEN EVERYDAY Except Christmas Day & New Years Day Primary school sporting action from Upper Hutt's much anticipated (and much delayed) Rippa Rugby World Cup that finally got played at Trentham Mem- orial Park on Wednesday, just two days into the new school term, after originally being set down for a mid-cup October 4 date. With the majority of Upper Hutt schools involved, this was a pretty hectic day with plenty of games played in the separate year 3/4 and year 5/6 competitions which were just completed before the rain came in. Our top photo features plenty of the players in the year 5/6 final from the Aust- ralia (Silverstream school) -- Scotland (Oxford Crescent) final which was won by Aust- ralia. They were probably the favourites too as, several weeks earlier they had success- fully represented the Welling- ton region in a national Rippa Competition (when they were representing Russia). In other year 5/6 action we have New Zealand (represented by Fraser Crescents), Romania (St Joseph's) in the yellow, South Africa (Oxford Cres- cent), Namibia (Maoribank) in the blue) and Fiji (St Joseph's).
