This Saturday's Upper Hutt Leader Santa Parade will travel the opposite direction along Main Street to past years. The changed route has been planned for some time but is similar to the successful Cory Jane parade earlier this month. Floats and groups will assemble in King St and travel south-west along Main St to finish in Royal St. More than 35 floats and groups, some new to the parade experience, have registered for the parade, which starts at 2pm and goes ahead rain or shine. The Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Brass Band will lead the parade, which includes floats and groups from Mitre 10 Mega, Paper Plus, Low Cost Bins, Westpac, Arts a Go Go!, Upper Hutt Dog Training School and Totara Park School. The parade will prove to be an exciting day for children and children-at-heart, throughout Upper Hutt and the surrounding areas. There will be singing, dancing, cheering, tricks, music and, of course, lollies.
