10 UPPER HUTT LEADER, DECEMBER 21, 2011 MERRY CHRISTMAS From all the team at Gold buyers What we buy: Damaged or unwanted gold, silver & platinum • Rings • Earrings • Chains • Bracelets & more ! How it works: Step 1: Visit your nearest Gold Buyers Kiosk at Queensgate Mall Lower Hutt, North City Shopping Centre Porirua, or The Plaza Palmerston North Step 2: Bring any item of gold into one of our kiosks along with your photo I.D. Step 3: Our consultant will perform a FREE purity test Step 4: We will offer you cash on the spot Gold Buyers NZ is changing the world one earring at a time, says Lead Buyer Joanna. With the store open at Westfield Queensgate Mall almost 2years now, thousands have benefitted from exchanging unwanted, broken & damaged jewellery for instant cash. Gold Buyers NZ purchases yellow, white & rose gold as well as silver & platinum jewellery, dental gold, gold coins, nuggets & bullion. Simply bring in any damaged chains, bracelets & bangles, earrings & wedding bands; basically anything you no longer want, and in any condition. Be it a single earring, broken chain, or a ring with the stones missing, "You can have your jewellery professionally tested by one of our gold buyers, who will perform a free purity test while you wait " says Joanna. Everything is tested using traditional assay techniques, it is sorted into the carat groups then weighed using certified scales. The tests determine the gold content and value of the items which is based on the second-hand gold spot price, and is updated regularly throughout the day. This free process happens right in front of the customers, with a no obligation quote at the end. "We figure if you can wear something for 10years, break it or get sick of it & still get some money for it, that's got to be a good thing, right?" The stones can be returned for keepsakes or resetting into another piece perhaps, or if left in will be donated to charity.Recycling gold is an environmentally friendly practice with huge benefits to the environment. Joanna says "sourcing a brand new 18kt gold ring can leave behind tonnes of cyanide saturated waste products. It is unfortunate that this is often the result of open-pit mining." The team at Gold Buyers NZ encourages you to clear out your jewellery clutter, including all your odds and ends, and recycle your old broken unwanted gold for cash. "The more money we give you, the better it is for the environment," says Joanna. Gold Buyers NZ is conveniently located in the Queensgate Mall, so is open 7 days a week. Rimutaka MP Chris Hipkins spoke to the minister last week and said he was told the court was an important part of Upper Hutt and the ministry would look into getting the work completed as soon as possible. Mayor Wayne Guppy met the Justice Ministry's general man- ager for district courts, Tony Fisher, last Tuesday and said he had been reassured about the future of the court. Upper Hutt court is not under threat of closing,'' he said. He [Mr Fisher] also confirmed that they have engaged Opus to look at what works need to be done. We were also told that out of the six courts we are the least affected court in terms of dam- age.'' Mr Guppy said that the council would be working with the Gov- ernment to find a suitable prem- ises in Upper Hutt for a tempor- ary court. They might not all be at the same site and there's an issue with the criminal court as they have to have cells on site, so that might not come back for a while,'' he said. It is exactly what we were wanting to hear.''
